ii) transparencies projector
iii) computer (running PDF or Powerpoint slide presentations, MS Office, Internet browsers, etc) that accepts flash cards (USB port)
iv) the possibility to link directly with your own laptop (sometimes tricky)
v) a small whiteboard.
For iii) and iv) it would be however much safer to take also a paper copy of the talk.
2. Airport arrival. From the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) you can take Airport Executive Shuttle ($15, desks in any of the baggage claim areas or call to reserve 859-261-8841 or 800-990-8841) Or you can take a cab ($25, taxi desk in Terminal 3 bag claim

They can be accessed by car from Martin Luther King Drive -->Campus Green Drive which ends at the Rec Center Circle (see http://www.uc.edu/housing/ResHall_Options/Rec_Center_Housing.html). The entrance (the rightmost of the two entrances close to the circle) should be clearly identified by a flashing LED marquee.

5. Banquet
* Friday 6pm at the Taft Museum. Cost: $35
* Sign-up at registration. We will also need a headcount for how many banquet participants will need transportation and how many have a car and can provide transportation.
* If you want to attend the banquet but arrive on a later day, please e-mail us - we need to give a head count to the caterer by Wednesday noon.
* Please consider seriously attending this banquet. The Museum is interesting, the caterer is excellent, and there will be a talented harpist. Last and not least, GPOTS will get a sizeable discount if we get 100 attendees.
6. Talks start at 8:30 am Wednesday morning in Braunstein Hall 300. This building is adjacent to the Old Chemistry where we have the Tuesday reception (see map as above).
Coffee and other refreshments in Braunstein Hall 312 near the lecture rooms, mornings and afternoons.

The dormitories are a very short walk from the reception (Old Chemistry) and the talks (Braunstein Hall) -see Campus map on the page http://sites.ucfilespace.uc.edu/gpots/parking.
Participants staying at the Vernon Manor or at the Kingsgate will have an organized shuttle (or walk 20-25 minutes). Contact the Hotel front desk the evening before for details and times. At the end of the day, there will be also a shuttle to bring you back to the hotel, but many of you may prefer to walk to some restaurants near Campus.
8. GPOTS Campus Area Safety Information
As with most if not all urban campuses, walking alone at night in the area is not advised.
Some areas around campus (within a 20 block radius) are safer than others, as is the case all over the city. That being said, we believe we are among the safer cities in the US.
9. Computer/internet facilities
i) Computer lab in Old Chemistry 825 open from to 7:45 am to 7 pm
ii) The conference rooms and nearby rooms all have ethernet connections. If you have a laptop you may want to bring an ethernet cable.
iii) A hotspot named "uptownwireless" is free for the first 3 days and after that it costs $1 per day. It should be accessible from a large part of the campus. It requires a credit card for identification. More info will be in the registration package.
10. Preprint table. Bring your preprints.
11. We will collect and then post on the GPOTS Web page copies of all the talks. Especially if you prepare you talk by computer, please send us a pdf copy of it in advance.
