BearCAT was started in 2005-06 when Dominic Berardi, Student Government Vice President and Daniel S. Cummins, Director University Judicial Affairs began discussing off campus behavior of UC Students. They were looking at a program to engage and empower students off campus to enhance and increase relationships between students living off campus and permanent residents in the Clifton off campus commu¬nity. BearCAT was created to develop strategies to promote communication, relationships, cooperation, and community connectedness among all members of our off campus community.

Mission - To engage UC Student and Faculty to make a positive impact in the communities that directly surrounds the University of Cincinnati

Vision - That students contribute to build on UCs Just Community Ini¬tiative and the guiding principals of UC/21.

Leaders - Beginning the 2008-2009 school-year, BearCAT is led by Kaitlin Keegan, Brian Rapien, Betsy Repaske, and Michelle Matthews. We will soon be recruiting team members to help our community projects.

Support - The team is supported by and works closely with Student Government, the University of Cincinnati Alumni Association, the Clifton Heights Improvement Association (CHIA), and Block Captains.

Events - Coming up we will be hosting our annual Thanksgiving food drive and our Holiday Decorating Contest. Also, throughout the year, we will be participating in community engaging activities, such as Clifton clean-ups, and other activities with CHIA.
