Bio: Alan Hagerty is a senior ACCEND student from Centerville, OH pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering in the College of Engineering and Applied Science as well as a Masters of Business Administration in the Carl H. Lindner College of Business.  Alan currently serves as Student Body President and previously served as the Director of Sustainability for two years, guiding many UC | sustainability initiatives including a campus wide recycling program, the Bearcat Bike Share, and the UC Sustainability Pledge.  Alan is also a proud member of Greek Life as a brother of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity.  He was the Secretary of Greek Week 2010, which raised more than $40,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.  In addition, Alan has served as the Men’s Club Soccer President and Team Captain for 3 years, leading the squad to the 2010 National Championship Round of 16.  During his time at UC, he has earned numerous awards and honors including UC Homecoming Court, Greek Male Athlete of the Year, and Sophomore Leader of the Year.  Moreover, Alan is a member of Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honorary Society.  In his spare time, Alan plays soccer for the Cincinnati Kings Professional Indoor Soccer Team. Alan will join the Teach For America 2012 Corps upon graduation.  Alan Hagerty is Proudly Cincinnati. 

Michael Linger

Bio: Michael Linger, a native Cincinnatian is a senior ACCEND student earning a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the College of Engineering and Applied Science as well as a master's degree in Business Administration from the Carl H. Linder College of Business. Michael transferred to UC in the winter of 2008 after playing a season of football at Michigan State University. Prior to being elected Vice President, Michael served as an At-Large Senator and Chairman of the Public Affairs Committee. Before, serving as a Senator, Alan and Michael worked together to found the Student Sustainability Coalition which has helped to unify student support across campus for initiatives such as the Bearcat Bike Share Program, on-campus recycling, and also waste composting. Away from Student Government, Michael spends his time and energy recruiting and mentoring engineers by leading tours for prospective students and their families as an Engineering Ambassador and serving as a peer leader for two separate engineering learning communities. During his five co-ops, Michael had the opportunity to work in Tampa, Orlando, St. Louis, and Cincinnati and completed his last three co-ops as an environmental engineer with The Procter & Gamble Company. Out of the classroom, Michael enjoys catching performances at CCM, exercising at the Rec Center, and competing in intramural sports. Michael is proud to be a Bearcat and Proudly Cincinnati.

Phil Dinovo
Speaker of Senate

Bio: Phil Dinovo is a fourth year student in the Carl H. Lindner College of Business, pursuing a Bachelors degree in Marketing and a minor in Finance. Originally from Sandusky, OH, Phil came to the University of Cincinnati due to its excellence in the field of cooperative education. Prior to being elected as the Speaker of Senate, Phil served a term as an At-Large Senator. During his time in that position, he dedicated his time to a number of projects that directly effected UC students, including the Bearcat Transportation System, the BTS shuttle tracker, and a number of Athletics and Tradition initiatives. Outside of Student Government, Phil is also a proud brother of the Beta Theta Pi Fraternity, where he currently serves as the Social Chair. He has also been an active member of a number of other student organizations. With a special interest in Athletics and spirit for the University, Phil has been involved in CATS (Committee for Athletics Tradition and Spirit), DC Fanatics, and RallyCats. Additionally, he is a proud member of the Men of METRO. He is also heavily involved with the Student Advisory Committee for the University Budget and the Bearcat Live! fall concert. In his spare time, Phil enjoys the occasional trip to the Rec Center, playing guitar, and exploring the great city of Cincinnati with friends. Phil is Proudly Cincinnati.

Maesa Idries
Internal Holdover

Bio: Maesa Idries is a junior ACCEND student from Centerville, OH pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering in the College of Engineering and Applied Science as well as a Masters of Business Administration in the Carl H. Lindner College of Business.  Maesa currently serves as Internal Holdover Senator and previously served as a College of Engineering and Applied Science Tribunal Senator.  This past year, Maesa helped establish International Leadership Collaboration (ILC) as an organization at the University of Cincinnati where she subsequently served as Treasurer for the group.   Members of ILC, including Maesa, recently completed an inaugural trip to Sri Lanka where they collaborated with Interact Club of Ananda College to execute a health camp in rural Kitulgala. Moreover, Maesa is devoted member and President of Sigma Phi Women’s Honorary. Maesa has completed all of her co-op rotations with KAO Brands Company working on skin care and hair care brands including John Frieda®, Jergens®, Curél®, Ban®, and Bioré®. Maesa Idries is Proudly Cincinnati. 

Alec Zucker
Chief of Staff

 

Bio: Alec Zucker is a fourth-year Biology major and Chemistry minor in the McMicken College of Arts & Sciences. This Bearcat from Beavercreek, OH has been involved in many different facets of campus. Alec has been heavily involved in Greek life where he is a proud Brother of Alpha Epsilon Pi. He served as the Recruitment, Brotherhood and Scholarship Chairman. Other involvement includes Greek Recruitment Team, DC Fanatics, being a resident advisor, McMicken Ambassadors, The Hillel Jewish Student Center and CADUCEA pre-medical society. He is also a member of Phi Rho Chi Men’s Recruitment Honorary. Alec began his involvement in Student Government in his third-year under the Smith | Rooney administration as the Associate Vice President of Campus Relations. As a science student Alec enjoys conducting research. He has worked under Dr. Jayne in the Biology department and is currently a Research Assistant in the Vision Research Center at the UC College of Medicine. In his free time, you can catch Alec at every Bearcat Football game. He also enjoys playing tennis, skydiving, and P90X. Alec Zucker is Proudly Cincinnati.
