In Spring of 2009 President Tim Lolli headed a venture between Student Government, RallyCats, and UC Athletics to develop plan that would garner greater support for UC athletics for the upcoming school year following such a stellar year for UC sporting events. Loss of free student tickets, confusion around student ticket policies, and overall school spirit were some of the concerns from the adjourning parties. After a string of meetings between student leaders and UC Athletics the Advance Student & Guest Ticket Season Ticker Package was developed.

Following the Bearcats historical Bowl Championship Series appearance capping off a Big East Championship it was decided the upcoming football season would make for an appropriate test market. Beginning with the Spring Game students and incoming freshmen have had the opportunity to purchase season tickets for every home game for the 2009-10 season. One thousand Student Tickets and five hundred Guest Tickets were put aside from the total student ticket allotment, allowing students the convenience of skipping the general procedure of student ticket pickup and guaranteeing a seat in Nippert Stadium for every home game. In order to keep flexibility for all Bearcats free Student Tickets will still be available 10 days prior to each game at a first come first serve basis.

"The students are the backbone of the fantastic game day atmosphere that is Nippert Stadium," said Director of Athletics Mike Thomas. "I am proud of the efforts of our marketing and fan development staff, who has taken this new product directly to our orientation groups, as well as our engaged student government for having the foresight to help push these new offerings to our students."

"Over the last few years, Bearcats football has added a more spirited atmosphere for students," said Student Body President Tim Lolli. "Fall quarter is not just about coming back to campus and seeing your friends anymore, but about going to games with your friends. We are extremely excited to see the sold-out response of this ticket package. It proves that student enthusiasm is no longer around one game, but an entire season."
