Senate

The University of Cincinnati Undergraduate Student Senate is the legislative body of the Undergraduate Student Government Association. The Senate is elected from among the undergraduate students to represent the views of these students and to take actions necessary to further the presence of the student voice at the University of Cincinnati.

There are two main groups of senators: college senators and at-large senators. Each colleges' tribunal elects two senators to represent the views of that individual college. At-Large Senators are elected from amongst the general student population, regardless of college, to represent the views of the entire student body.

Additionally, there is one senator elected to represent the University Funding Board, one to represent the Student Activities Board, and one to represent the Nightwalk Safety Board.

There are two executive senators, the Internal Holdover Senator and the External Holdover Senator. Additionally, the Student Body Vice-President is a voting member of the Senate.

The entire operation is overseen by the Speaker of Senate, who moderates all Senate meetings and oversees the general function of the Senate and its committees.
